Pretty amazing run starting at Cold Springs trailhead. It’s pretty well traveled but check AllTrails for the routing as there are a lot of paths you can take. Route to the peak is off the main trail onto a narrow, unmarked-ish, loose rock/shale path to the top. Well worth it or even better continuing to Camino Cielo after summiting (adds a significant amount of distance).
Fantastic trail starting from the furthest point into the SYRA (via car). Red Rocks is a popular family / swimming spot in the summer and very crowded. Once you get out of the crowd it gets more and more interesting with the terrain. Somewhat exposed and remote.
Relatively famous and well-travelled trail in Palm Desert. Leads up to the illuminated cross on the hill – can be brutal and unforgiving in hot weather so make sure to take water!
Another bucket list run and one of the best in the desert. It is *very* exposed and somewhat extreme – watch the weather, take a lot of water and don’t be afraid to turn around!
Nice urban run that covers some of Singapore’s open natural spaces. Hot and humid, make sure you take enough water!
We’d read about the half marathon from Cascais to Lisbon but it had been on hold during COVID. So one beautiful Sunday we decided to do the Inaugural Clare and Todd Cascais to Lisbon Half Marathon.
Our favorite Sunday long run after moving to Cascais to our favorite taco place – Taco Bigotes. Right off the train station in Sao Pedro do Estoril – go there!

End of an era – cold, foggy, wet morning run along the New Cut down along the River Avon to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
This is a very challenging long run/hike that drops from La Garde-Freinet down to the Plains des Mures and climbs back to the village through some remote but breathtaking countryside.
