La Garde-Freinet

We stayed in La Garde-Freinet for several months over the winter of 2022-2023. Some friends had taken us on a walk to the fort and cross so I knew there were some good trails but didn’t realize that the tourism office had posted 12 trails in the region. Ranging from short strolls to a near half-marathon 20k, it was a shockingly varied and surprisingly difficult set of runs throughout the Massif des Maures down to the Plaines des Maures.

These areas can be closed if there’s a fire risk. And with all of these runs in rural France, beware of hunting season and reconsider activities during that time. You can check with the tourism office for any questions:
